Initial screening appointment for Autism or ADHD
Combined initial screening appointment for Autism and ADHD
- The initial assessment involves gathering relevant background information about education, family, friendships, health, strengths etc. We will discuss any current concerns and what may have prompted the assessment process for you. The session is discussion-based and enables us to hear more about current functioning.
- In preparation of the initial appointment, we collate screening questionnaires that are sent prior to the session to capture information about possible neurodiverse traits and overall wellbeing.
- At the end of the session, we will discuss recommendations of next steps (proceed to full assessment or alternative recommendations).
(Before proceeding to a full Autism or ADHD assessment, we will need to complete an initial assessment).
Adults
Full Adult ADHD assessment
An Adult ADHD assessment includes:
- A full clinical interview to explore clinical history and background information.
- The administration of a focused diagnostic interview for ADHD in adults (DIVA-5).
- Gathering of your full developmental history. Ideally, we would have the opportunity to talk with someone who knew you well as a child (a parent/caregiver) about your early development. We understand this may not always be possible and can discuss whether there are any helpful alternative sources we can include if appropriate to gather further information (e.g. school reports).
- A separate feedback appointment to discuss the diagnostic outcome and any helpful next steps
- A thorough written assessment report detailing the diagnostic decision and recomendations.
Please note: A QBCheck (computerised task) can be included if considered clinically useful (this carries an additional fee of £250 and will be discussed as an option prior to administration).
